Imagine Frustrations

Hello everyone! I sure hope your weekend has leant itself to crafting more so than mine!

It has been full of frustrations. My new toy, Cricut Imagine, arrived on Friday. The mat wasn't very sticky out of the box. Didn't want to hold the paper too well. I fought with it a few times trying to get the blade calibration right for the print and cut before finally giving up. We were out and about on Saturday with my in-laws and stopped and picked up a new pack of mats to see if that helped any. The mats were stickier and I found information on advanced calibration and thought this will be the end to my troubles. But nope, after fighting with calibration for nearly two hours, I just gave up. It cuts pretty close to perfect but not totally. I volunteered to create my niece's birthday invitations for my sister-in-law. She says you can't tell where the princess' hand is cut off a little on the edge but I sure can. Maybe it's because I know how it is exactly supposed to look and it doesn't look that way. :( She says she really likes them. They are not completely done but I hope to have a pic of a finished one tomorrow.

I also volunteered my card creating services to a friend from work. I hope she likes it.

I didn't get as much crafting done as I wanted this weekend. The Imagine frustrated me and I couldn't get past the frustration to design anything. I'm hoping that this week is better and I am able to work out the issues I am having. I am in class for a few hours tomorrow night and I have to finish my portfolio for my Wednesday morning site visit. So hopefully Wednesday night I can dedicate to crafting. (at least that is my goal)

Have a great night!

Wrapping up Loose ends

Didn't have a whole lot of time to create tonight. I did manage to finish the horse :)

I am very happy with how it turned out and will be listing it on Etsy tomorrow. I also managed to create this cute card.

Crafty Afternoon

Well after staying up until 3 this morning working on the Rocker Chick rocking horse I got a later start than what I wanted on getting things organized today. With my DH's help, I was able to get about half of my scrapping supplies organized. I hope to have the craft room set up before my Imagine arrives (hopefully sometime this week!)

I really wanted to put the finishing touches on this rocking horse but alas, I have misplaced my glue sticks for the hot glue gun so I was unable to finish. It really turned out better than I envisioned it. Inspired by a project at Michael's, I found the Rockstar Stack paper at JoAnn's and selected the four different paper types of paper. I have some really awesome rocker ribbons for the hair! I can't wait to have it completed!

This little project was inspired by one of my many crafty searches on the internet. I am currently completing my last externship for my master's in speech therapy and my supervisor LOVES coffee! We often have a coffee break after seeing few patients early in the morning. I couldn't resist making her this plaque as she enjoys any type of coffee but really loves Starbucks and speciality coffees.

Last but not least it this cute little baby shower card I created on a whim tonight. I selected papers from Nana's Kids paper pack and used two sparkly pink brads to accent the diaper bag. Oh Baby is cut from Just a Note on the E2.

I have class from 7 to 10 tomorrow evening and not sure how much crafting I can get done! :( I'm off on Tuesday so I hope to enjoy a full day of crafting and getting the craft room ready for it's new addition!
